A communication terminal for generating a buddy group, a buddy group management device, and a method thereof are provided to designate more than one communication terminal which carries out group communication as a buddy group, thereby minimizing traffic for adding a new buddy, consequently a user can easily and simply add the new buddy. An input unit(210) inputs signals for ID information on more than one of receiving terminals from a user. A communication unit(220) carries out group communication with the more than one of the receiving terminals based on the ID information. A registration unit(230) registers the more than one of the receiving terminals which carries out the group communication as one buddy group. A buddy group controller(240) decides whether to register the more than one of the receiving terminals as the buddy group.
