A digital broadcast STB(Set Top Box), a data processing method of the digital broadcast STB, and its recording medium are provided to allow a program, which is performed in a data processing device, to be used in a large screen of a high picture quality regardless of whether the digital broadcast STB and the data processing device are compatible. A digital broadcast STB goes into a compatible mode via a certain interface provided in a user input device or a digital broadcast STB(S100). An agent(program) outputs the first output information of a program performed in a data processing device to the digital broadcast STB(S110). The digital broadcast STB reproduces the first output information on a display device(S120). A user outputs a certain input signal to the digital broadcast STB by using the user input device based on the reproduced information(S130). The digital broadcast STB converts the received input signal into a signal that can be recognized by the data processing device, and outputs the converted signal to the data processing device(S140,S150). The data processing device receives the recognizable signal, performs an operation corresponding to the signal(S160) and generates the second output information(S170). The second output information is outputted to the digital broadcast STB(S180).
