A system and a method for searching information with IPC(International Patent Classification) are provided to improve accessibility to the desired information in technical data search by classifying and using IPC codes. A patent/technical term database constructing module(114) extracts and stores patent/technical terms to a patent/technical term database(115) by loading patent data corresponding to one IPC. A scientific/technical data IPC classification constructing module(121) extracts scientific/technical terms by searching scientific/technical data in the Internet, assigns the IPC code to the searched scientific/technical data based on the patent/technical term, and classifies/stores the assigned IPC code to a scientific/technical data IPC classification database(122). A preceding technology information searching module(200) includes a patent information search engine using the IPC code, and provides the patent search data and the scientific/technical data of the IPC code corresponding to the searched patent data based on the IPC classification database by responding to an IPC code type search request of the user.
