A cosmetic composition containing the extract of Phaseolus radiatus L. var. aurea Prain flower or leaf is provided to improve skin beauty by extracting the Phaseolus radiatus L. var. aurea Prain flower or leaf having whitening and anti-aging effects in polar solvent to low polar solvent, successively to increase the amount of the effective ingredients and maximize stability. A cosmetic composition contains 0.0001-10 wt.% of the extract of Phaseolus radiatus L. var. aurea Prain flower or leaf which is prepared by pulverizing Phaseolus radiatus L. var. aurea Prain flower or leaf, extracting the pulverized product with C1-C4 anhydrous or hydrous lower alcohol including ethanol and methanol, a mixture of water and lower alcohol, acetone, 1,3-butylene glycol, n-propanol, iso-propanol or n-butanol, filtering and concentrating the solvent extract under reduced pressure, extracting the concentrated extract with ethyl acetate or methylene chloride, treating the extract with active charcoal, and concentrating the active charcoal treated extract in a distiller with a cooling condenser under reduced pressure.
