PURPOSE: Provided are terpyridine derivatives, a manufacturing process thereof and an anticancer composition containing them. The anticancer agent has excellent anticancer activity, high selectivity to cancer cells and reduced adverse effects. CONSTITUTION: The terpyridine derivative is represented by the formula(1), wherein A is a radical represented by the formula(2), (3) or (4); B is a radical represented by the formula(2), (3) or (4); and C is a radical represented by the formula(2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7) (8) or (9). It is manufactured by the reaction of a compound of the formula(13) and a compound of the formula(14) in the presence of ammonium acetate.
