A joint assembly for joining glass fiber reinforced plastic pipes and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent a gasket from being separated from a joint by hardening fibers wound around the gasket to form the joint in an integral structure. A method for manufacturing a joint assembly(200) for joining glass fiber reinforced plastic pipes comprises the step of inserting a pipe fitting gasket(120) around an outer circumference of a mold frame(115). The mold frame is rotated by a motor(110) such that the pipe fitting gasket is rotated together with the mold frame. Fiber is wound around an outer circumference of the rotating pipe fitting gasket. Glass fiber such as a glass fiber end roving(171) impregnated with synthetic resin is wound around the rotating pipe fitting gasket while glass fiber fragments(172) are dropped to the outer circumference of the pipe fitting gasket, so that a first glass fiber layer(140) is formed. A glass fiber fabric is wound around the first glass fiber layer. The glass fiber fragments, the impregnated glass fiber end roving, and the glass fiber fabric are hardened.
