UPWARD-FLOWING EXPANSION-STATE WATER PURIFICATION APPARATUS USING ADSORPTION AND FILTRATION OF ACTIVATED CARBON AND CLESANING METHOD THEREOF

An upward flowing expansion-state water purification apparatus using adsorption and filtration of activated carbon is provided to simultaneously adsorb and filter raw water flowing in the upward direction by activated carbon, and separate alien substances adsorbed onto the activated carbon, thereby discharge the separated alien substances by backwashing the raw water and ejecting compressed air to the activated carbon in the cleaning process, and a cleaning method of the apparatus is provided. An upward flowing expansion-state water purification apparatus using adsorption and filtration of activated carbon comprises: an activated carbon adsorption tower; and an air compressor(AC) for ejecting air into the activated carbon adsorption tower during a cleaning operation of activated carbon, wherein the activated carbon adsorption tower includes: a housing(30) having a water outlet(24) formed on a top part thereof, and a water inlet(22) and a drain respectively formed on a bottom part thereof; an activated carbon adsorption filtering layer(40) charged into the housing to form a water inflow space(Si) and a water outflow space(So) in lower and upper parts of the activated carbon adsorption filtering layer respectively; and an air ejection member(36) installed in the water inflow space to eject air supplied from the air compressor, wherein air supplied to the water inflow space through the air ejection member during the cleaning operation ascends to an inner upper part of the housing and is accumulated in the water outflow space such that the surface of water in the housing is gradually lowered accordingly. The activated carbon adsorption tower additionally includes a first water inlet pipe(10), a second water inlet pipe(12), first raw water inflow pipes(34a,34b), a second raw water outflow pipe(34c), a sliding type switch valve(76), a first air pipe(16), a second air pipe(18), a filtration filter(60), a vent(28), and a cleaning water distributing perforated plate(62).
