FIELD: organic chemistry, medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to N-(5-hydroxynicotinoyl)-L-glutamic acid mono- and bivalent salts of the general formula: wherein X means CaOH; Y means hydrogen atom (H) (I); X = Y and means Na (II); X = Y means K (III) that show antidepressant, anxiolytic, geroprotective, neuroprotective, antihypoxic, anti-insult and nootropic effects. From the known preparations and among them the nearest analogue, i. e. N-(5-hydroxynicotinoyl)-L-glutamic acid base (nooglutyl), the novel compounds differ by the presence of psychotropic effects, namely antidepressant and anxiolytic effects, and neuroprotective and geroprotective effects also.
