FIELD: construction, particularly to erect buildings and building structures in seismic areas or special structures.;SUBSTANCE: multistory earthquake-resistant building comprises upper spatially rigid stories built of columns, girders, floor panels, wall panels, and the first or ground floor or the first and ground floors made of ribbed walls. Wall ribs have rounded upper and lower edges and may stably swivel along grooves created in horizontal panels during earthquake, wherein said walls are arranged between the panels. Rounded wall and rib edges have varying curvature so that said curvature is used as engaging and disengaging links and limit large displacement along with retention of seismic force reduction properties of the walls. Building comprises independent ribbed walls installed on two levels and intermediate horizontal panel arranged in-between. The horizontal panel is solid or provided with orifices or is made as crossing beam system. Walls and ribs thereof have rounded edges with varying curvature, which create cylindrical rolling surfaces to increate mutual contact areas and decrease stress concentration in walls. Walls of each level may swivel only in longitudinal and transversal directions with respect to building orientation so that wall displacement vectors in upper and lower levels are transversal one to another.;EFFECT: increased seismic resistance and reliability, possibility to withstand broad frequency spectrum earthquakes, elimination of stress concentration.;1 cl, 10 dwg
