FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in manufacture of superconducting elements for magnet bearings of fast-rotating rotors and high-field quasi-permanent magnets, as well as in whatever branch of machine building and instrument making, where it is required to create high permanent magnet fields and contact-free passive magnet suspensions, for instance, in magnet separators or in transport on magnet cushion. According to the method for manufacturing large quasi single crystals of high-temperature superconductors with composition of Y(RE)BaCuO for growing of crystals, quasi single crystal primer is made, placed on top of billet surface, and then billet is subjected to crystallisation. Primer is cut in the form of parallelepiped so that two opposite long facets correspond to crystallographic plane (001) of primer, and ribs of long facets are oriented in crystallographic direction [110]±30°. Width of primer should be minimum, but at the same time provide stability of primer position on billet surface. Technical result of invention consists in obtaining large volume quasi single crystals from high-temperature superconductors of composition Y(RE)BaCuO, where RE is rare-earth elements such as Gd, Sm, Nd, Eu, etc, with simultaneous reduction of crystallisation time.;EFFECT: preparation of large volume quasi single crystals from high-temperature superconductors with simultaneous reduction of crystallisation time.;6 dwg
