The invention relates to a suction holder (1), comprising a suction device (2) with a flexible suction base (4) and an arched dome-like rotary knob (3), enclosing the suction device (2) with external fixing elements (10), whereby the suction device (2) and the rotary knob (3) are connected to each other such as to rotate by means of a central screw thread connection and cooperate such that on application of the suction base (4) on a smooth surface (8), in particular made of ceramic, or glass, the above may be brought into the applied position thereof, by operation of the screw thread connection with generation of a vacuum. The aim of the invention is production of a suction holder with a less complex production with the same usage properties as said holder. Said aim is achieved, whereby the suction base (4) has the form of an arched suction cup and the rotary knob (3) has a pressure web (15) and inner support ribs (17) and, in the fixed position thereof, the suction base (4) is displaced by the pressure (15) and pressed against the application surface (8) with generation of a large vacuum area and the suction base (4) is also in contact with the support ribs (17).
