The method involves applying an output voltage (UA) to a piezo-actuator in a closed condition of an injector. A voltage is applied to an injecting voltage (UE) to open the injector by feeding current to the piezo-actuator. The voltage is directly adjustable before injecting into an intermediate voltage. The intermediate voltage is an opening voltage (UOE) that is changed to an offset voltage, and is applied for distributing the injection of the injecting voltage. An independent claim is also included for a computer program with program code for performing a method of controlling an injector of an internal-combustion engine.
