The carrier has a disk-shaped substrate component part (2) and a Radio Frequency Identification label (3). The substrate component part has an extended recess (4) orthogonal to the main surface of the substrate component part. The radio frequency identification label is inserted and fixed in the recess. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an optical data carrier.
