The method involves producing a core with plate-like sections, from a plate-like material (4) deformable in a flat and non-elastic or non plastic manner. An internal space of a gastight, flexible casing containing the core is evacuated, where the core is provided with the casing. The casing is completely sealed in a gas-tight manner so that the plate-like sections of the core take a position relative to each other based on a desired form of a molded part, when atmospheric pressure influences from outside. An opening is sealed in a gas tight manner before evacuating the internal space. An independent claim is also included for a molded part comprising a core.
