The procedure for mating a holding device with a disc to mount (10) e.g. a rear-view mirror in cars, comprises treating a mating surface of a holding part of the holding device (12) with an atmospheric plasma, by flaming, with a corona treatment or by fluorination, cleaning the mating surface of the disc with a cleaning agent or the atmospheric plasma, applying a glass activator and then a bonding agent on the mating surface of the disc, and placing and/or pressing the holding part onto the mating surface of the disc. An independent claim is included for unit for mating a holding device with a disc.
