The method involves detecting and locating fire within a monitoring zone by a triggering and detection unit that responds to temperature and/or pressure changes. The monitoring zone that encloses a fire region is determined, where corresponding control units (11, 13) are locked. The pressure and the temperature changes are converted into a control factor in accordance to the detection and location of the fire for opening the supply of an extinguishing agent in the fire region, where the control units are activated on the basis of the pressure and the temperature changes. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a method for fighting fire in a fire-endangered area of a building and construction.
