Cooling shell turning method comprises placing an empty box half with an open palette in a changer, lifting an empty cooling shell from a conveyor into the changer, turning the mold together with the palette about 180[deg], shifting the mold to move a new box with a cast piece into the changer, lowering the cooling shell onto the box half and locking, turning the changer by 180[deg], moving rams through the openings of the palette so that the cast part falls from the box into the cooling shell, lowering the cooling shell and anchoring on a lifting table and lowering the cooling shell. An independent claim is also included for a cooling shell turning arrangement.
