The chuck comprises a number of clamping levers (12), which are stretched eccentrically and are adjusted for stretching the work pieces. A drive is placed to adjust the clamping levers. The transmission of a force exerted by the drive takes place on the clamping lever by a sliding piston (20) in a contact area (30). The sliding piston and the clamping lever are formed in such a manner that the force is equal, irrespective of the position of the clamping lever. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a centering bolt for chuck (2) a machine tool for the treatment of workpieces with a chuck.
