Non-invasive diagnosis of diabetes, an early stage diabetes or a diabetic risk, comprises determining the concentration of at least an analyte from amino acids, glycation product and/or compounds of the metabolism comprising ketone bodies in the biological tissues, preferably the skin; and comparing this average value of the analyte with the healthy biological tissues, preferably the skin, where a significant variation indicates a diabetes, an early stage diabetes or a diabetic risk.
