The device (1) has a cleaning textile (4) that is attachable to a mop body (2) such that the cleaning textile is arranged partially between the mop body and a floor to be cleaned and is brought in contact with the floor. The cleaning textile is fixable to the mop body by a fastener (3). Multiple interlocking units (5) are provided at the mop body and the fastener, where the cleaning textile is clampable to the mop body by the interlocking units. The interlocking units exhibit slots that are arranged at the fastener or at the mop body. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning a floor.
