The machine (1) has a storage container (12) for intermediate storage of a filler. A dosing organ (3) is provided for feeding the storage container, and a filling device (5) fills bags (13). A sensor device (6) is provided for stepless determination of amount of filling (8) of the filler in the storage container in order to uniformly maintain the amount of filling in the storage container. The dosing organ is regulated by using a control equipment. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating a package machine for filling of bulk materials in bags.
