The component has a housing (1) mounted at a passage opening of an extension surface, and comprising contacting and accommodation areas (20, 10). A sensor unit (32) is arranged in the accommodation area and has a sensor surface for sensing a surrounding parameter. A sealing body (2) is provided between an outer side of the housing and the passage opening, where the sealing body together with the housing forms a sealing boundary surface. The contacting area is arranged on one side of the boundary surface and the accommodation area is arranged on another side of the boundary surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a sensor component.
