The method involves providing prefabricated cylinder tube segments e.g. piston end piece (5) and tubular piston middle piece, at front sided-contact surfaces, where the segments are made of steel. The segments are centered such that the surfaces are positioned opposite to each other and an outer center frame of one of the segments overlaps with the other segment at axial ends, where the segments have smaller length than a tubular piston (3). The segments are welded together at the contact surfaces by a laser radiation or an electron radiation : An independent claim is also included for a kit for producing a cylinder tube.
