The device (10) for masking surface areas that should not be treated with a surface changing treatment of work pieces, for avoiding undesirable coating on work pieces to be coated, comprises coverings (11), which consist of same physical and chemical characteristics as the surface areas of the work pieces not to be treated. The coverings and the work piece (14) to be treated consist of identical material. The coverings contain only elements, which leave work pieces to be treated unchanged in their physical and chemical characteristics. The device (10) for masking surface areas that should not be treated with a surface changing treatment of work pieces, for avoiding undesirable coating on work pieces to be coated, comprises coverings (11), which consist of same physical and chemical characteristics as the surface areas of the work pieces not to be treated. The coverings and the work piece (14) to be treated consist of identical material. The coverings contain only elements, which leave work pieces to be treated unchanged in their physical and chemical characteristics. The coverings are mounted on work piece openings (23) to cavities overlaid on an area to be protected of a workpiece to be treated. Retaining means and workpiece support of workpiece are assigned by masked surfaces. The retaining means are connectable with the coverings. The coverings form an impermeable contact area by reaching a certain treatment temperature in relation to the retaining means and/or work piece supports. The coverings have a negative form of the retaining means and/or work piece support also positive form of a work piece reception (13). Atomic lattice of the cover, of the workpiece support and/or the workpiece reception consists a solidified material structure. The device has high temperature gradient strength. The coverings are provided with a protective layer against thermal and/or mechanical stress. A quasi-constant gap exists between the coverings and the work pieces to be treated. The coverings are provided in the area of its top edge with exchange extensions. An independent claim is included for a procedure for production of coverings, work piece reception and/or work piece supports.
