A retaining ring has a first (2) and a second (3) abutment surface, where the distance between the two abutment surfaces determines the total width of the retaining ring. A third abutment surface (7) is arranged between the first and second abutment surfaces (2,3) and is a radial limitation of the outer diameter (9) or of the inner diameter (6) and whose other radial limitation (8) is arranged between the inner diameter (6) and the outer diameter (9), to locate a spring on the third abutment surface (7).
