The device has a measuring tube through which a medium flows and a magnet, whose magnetic field intersperses the measuring tube in area of a measured length with a given magnetic field direction perpendicular to the direction of flow of the medium (F). The diameter of the measuring tube in the area of the measured length along the magnetic field direction is smaller than the tube diameter along a direction perpendicular to the magnetic field direction. Surface of tubing cross-section in the area of the measured length is larger than the cross-sectional area of remaining measuring tube.
