The exhaust pipe has a leading inner exhaust pipe, which is arranged in a given radial distant from an outer sheath tube. A pipe is provided having insulation arranged between the inner and the outer tubes. The inner tube (7) has a structured jacket surface ratio, such that different thermal expansions of the inner tube and an outer tube (8) are compensated, for the same thermal stress compensated. The inner tube has a lower wall thickness (d) than the outer tube (8), and has several convex areas (10). An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing an exhaust pipe.
