The pump (1) has a housing (2) and an impeller (7) rotatably supported in the housing. A valve gate (8) is movable between two different gate positions. Cooling fluid outlets (4, 5) are opened in one gate position and are closed in the other gate position. The valve gate is movable into a third gate position, in which the cooling fluid outlets are closed. The valve gate is axially adjustable by an adjusting unit (9).
