The coil (1) has superconductive wire sections (A, B, C) wound in layers (11, 12, 13) of a length-wise coil section in a parallel manner, so that the windings of the wire sections are adjacent and are connected in a series manner. A set of coil areas of the coil are bridged by a Ohm`s protective resistor (4) in such a manner that the areas produce a dipole moment during the operation. The wire sections exhibit niobium-titanium, niobium-tin and magnesium boride high temperature superconductor (HTSL) e.g. Yttrium barium copper oxide and/or bismuth strontium calcium copper oxide superconductors.
