The method involves subjecting a hub rotor magnet with a current pulse, which is shorter than a disengaging time of the hub rotor, by a control device that actuates the hub rotor magnet. The control device subjects the hub rotor magnet with another current pulse according to the process of the disengaging time, where the duration of the latter current pulse is larger than the disengaging time of the hub rotor. The hub rotor magnet operates an adjustment or locking device of a gear selection control lever.
