The procedure for the usage of synchronous motors (3) for operating a common working element e.g. ring spinning machine, comprises providing a common frequency converter (5) for the supply of the synchronous motors and controlling the frequency converter by an angular position detector (6) at a rotor of the synchronous motors. The uniform initial position of the rotor of all synchronous motors is caused independently of the operating-conditioned initial position of the working element. Clutches, which is arranged between the rotor and the working element, are removed. The procedure for the usage of synchronous motors (3) for operating a common working element e.g. ring spinning machine, comprises providing a common frequency converter (5) for the supply of the synchronous motors and controlling the frequency converter by an angular position detector (6) at a rotor of the synchronous motors. The uniform initial position of the rotor of all synchronous motors is caused independently of the operating-conditioned initial position of the working element. Clutches, which is arranged between the rotor and the working element, are removed. The synchronous motors are brought and/or held in a phase angle by subjecting with direct current or regulated supply current in standstill manner and the clutches are closed.
