The method involves forming a gabion baskets (1) from mats out of a wire mesh and filling the gabion baskets with a material i.e. stones. The gabion baskets are engaged at opposite sides of jogging units and are shaked after filling. The jogging units are arranged at a frame (2) and are inverted over the gabion baskets. Jogging motors of the jogging units are started and the baskets are shaken. The jogging units are tiltably arranged at the frame that has an eye mechanism (3) for hanging the frame at a support arm. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for manufacturing gabion baskets.
