The method involves moving of strip (1) in its longitudinal direction (L) with the help of a pair of blades, which are moving around two spaced axes and arranged in their longitudinal extension traverse to the longitudinal direction of the strip. The strip is engraved traverse to its longitudinal direction through the blades in such a way that slots are introduced into the base body. A blade from the pair of the blades is used for engraving, which has a handle at its end, which forms a base of the slot (7) in the base body (2) of the strip. An independent claim is also included for a tool for guiding a method.
