The pneumatic spring and damper unit (1) has a piston (4) movable in a cylinder housing (2), where the piston divides the cylinder housing into two active areas (6, 8). A piston rod (10) is connected with the piston and projects from the cylinder housing. The piston rod is movably arranged opposite to the cylinder housing. A bellow (12) is fastened at the cylinder housing with an end and is fastened at the piston rod with another end. An opening (16) is automatically closable in the cylinder housing by a bouncing process of the piston and the piston rod.
