The adapter utilizes a net weaver virus scan interface (NW-VSI) pre-defined by systems, applications and products and is connected to an anti-virus-software by an Internet content adaptation protocol (ICAP) and web cache coordination protocol (WCCP). The adaptation protocol is documented according to request for commands 3507. The adaptation protocol is conceived to analyze and change data within a hypertext transmission protocol (HTTP) such that a process of an HTTP-connection is made, where an application or response of the data to be scanned is transmitted via the connection.
