The unit (10) has two printing units (11-14), each having a form cylinder (15) that is coupled by cogwheels at a side of drives (18, 19), where the cogwheels are arranged in three cogwheel planes in such a manner that the straight-toothed cogwheels are arranged in one of the planes. The cogwheels couple a transfer cylinder (16) of each printing unit to the form cylinders at the side. The inclined-toothed cogwheels are arranged in the other two planes and couple the transfer cylinders to a satellite cylinder (17) at the side if a coupling assigned to the satellite cylinder is closed.
