The roof box has a lower frame (1), where an upper frame (2) is fixed, which forms a loading space. The upper frame is tilted up from the lower frame to two opposite sides, for the accesibility. A closing handle has a lock for locking the opposite sides between the upper frame and the lower frame. The closing handle is U-shaped and articulated at the upper frame, where the lock is rigidly arranged at the lower frame. A sidepiece is fixed on the closing handle at the free sidepiece over a hinge.
