The packing (1) has an absorbent insert (3) inserted into a bowl (2), and a cover (6), where the absorbent insert has a set of bodies e.g. pellets, balls, truncated cones and ellipsoids, made of cellulose. The bodies are provided with a rotationally symmetric external shape, where the bodies have external shape and different forms. A water-permeable support e.g. diaphragm, is attached on one of the bodies. An independent claim is also included for a method for packing food.
