The pump (11) has a pump housing provided with a pump inlet (13) and a pump outlet (16), and a pump rotor (15) that is arranged in the housing. A gas discharge unit (19) has an opening (22) that is arranged in a suction area (31) of the pump rotor, and another opening (23) that is arranged outside of the pump housing. The opening (22) is centrically arranged over the pump rotor, where the pump outlet is connected with the pump inlet.
