The soft top has a device for hydraulic actuation of a movable cover unit (3) by a cylinder-piston unit (5), which is connected with a hydraulic pump (18) via a hydraulic module. A control valve device is arranged in the cylinder-piston unit with a pressure path (13) connecting the hydraulic pump. A damping device (20) blocks the movement of the soft top. The damping device is designed by the control valve device, where the control valve device is designed with a magnetor heological mechanism (17).
