The pressure intensifier has a piston rod (52) whose rear end is led out to a positioning rod from a hydraulic cylinder housing (300), in which the positioning rod has an adjusting nut (75) provided on a threaded section. The driving-out stroke of a hydraulic piston and the positioning nut is limited by the installation of the adjusting nut at the assembly portion of the hydraulic cylinder housing. The hydraulic piston is movably arranged with the piston rod in the hydraulic cylinder housing within the high-pressure area. The pressure intensifier also includes a pneumatic cylinder housing (200) in which a pneumatic piston with piston rod is movably arranged. The motion of the pneumatic piston and hydraulic piston displaces a hydraulic fluid in the high-pressure area of the hydraulic cylinder housing for changing the operating stroke of the piston rod of the pneumatic piston.
