The vehicle seat has a form-rigid structure (10) and a cover (14) for lining the vehicle seat. The cover is connected with an insertion section (20) that is fixed in a cushion channel (11). A part (22) of the insertion section projects from the cushion channel and has a groove or open or closed cavity. The cover covers the part of the insertion section. The part of the insertion section completely covers an opening of the cushion channel. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a vehicle seat.
