The arrangement has an input device e.g. touchpad (5), cooperating with a display (4) for menu-driven operation of a function of and/or a function combined with a motor vehicle (1). The input device has five input areas of different functions, where each function is independent of an achieved menu point or level. One of the areas is provided for achieving a super ordinate menu level by contacting and/or pressing on the area. Another input area is provided for selecting the point and/or a function marked on the display by contacting and/or by pressing on the area.
