The method involves introducing a caisson shaped catching basket element (1) at the rhizosphere of a fruit body (4). A device separates the fruits, in connection with neighboring branches and leaves. The group of fruits, branches and leaves, is supplied to a receiving unit (3). The fruits, branches and leaves are separated locally and subjected to a further treatment separately. The fruits are separated from the branches and the leaves by shaking and beating by a functional unit. An independent claim is also included for a device for execution of a method for an economic harvest of fruits at trees or bushes, particularly olives.
