The engine (1) has an injector (31) dispensing gaseous fuel into an inlet arrangement (9) of the engine. The gaseous fuel that comes from a gas tank (22) is introduced into a gas-fuel manifold (30) over a rail-injector (27). The injector receives the gaseous fuel that is delivered into an inlet channel (5) of the engine. A pressure sensor and a temperature sensor are provided in the gas-fuel manifold for determining pressure and/or temperature of the fuel. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an internal combustion engine.
