The magnetic separator consists of a base card with holes, on which the magnets are fixed. The bottom card fits in or under the base of a standard microphotometer. The magnets fixed to the base card are uniformly spaced on the edge of each well (maximum 24), and each magnet is surrounded by four microphotometer card wells.
