The method involves assigning an identifier to control commands provided by a control command agent (20). The commands are determined to be interpreted and to be applied to an electronic document (15) e.g. HTML document. A change of condition of the document is caused by applying the commands to the document. A request is received from a client (10) e.g. internet browser, and a response is sent to the client as reaction to the request, by the agent. The response is comprised of a control command, to which an identifier assigned to the client corresponds. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an electronic document comprising a requesting unit (2) a method for generating control commands.
