The charger has a contact surface for a hearing aid. The contact surface includes an arrangement (1) of set of contact units (3,3a-3d), where an electrical connection with charging contacts (5, 5') of the hearing aid is produced over the contact units. The set of contact units are arranged in the form of matrix, where contact points are arranged at a distance from one another. The clearance distance between the contact units is smaller than or same as the diameter of the charging contacts of the hearing aid. The contact surface is made of a conducting elastic material. An independent claim is also included for a method for charging a hearing aid chargeable with a battery.
