Engine's operational behavior testing method for series production of vehicles, involves feeding image in tapered bus system, where image simulates components which are not constructed together with engine on test stand

The method involves generating an image representing an operational behavior of a part of a set of integrated components e.g. sensors, based on a software. An engine on a test stand is connected with a bus system i.e. controller area network bus system (1), tapered with respect to the integrated components. The image is fed into the tapered bus system, where the image simulates the components which are not constructed together with the engine on the test stand and necessary for the operation of the engine. An independent claim is also included for a test bench set up for testing operational behavior of an engine.
