The boiler has a housing (1) with a flue gas outlet (5) and a fireproof backing (2). A primary air supply (16), an ash fall collecting chamber (4) and a collecting channel (6) form a gasification zone and a combustion zone between a solid fuel filling space (3) and the ash fall collecting chamber. The connecting channel is arranged in a base (14) of the filling space. A secondary air supply (10) is arranged from a wall side of the channel into an effective range downstream of a flow tearing edge (8) in a leading manner.
